Salary: £35,000 - £45,000/annum + benefits

  • Aerospace production-line and test handling systems for Rolls Royce, BAE and Bombardier

Experts in bespoke mechanical handling solutions

SCX Special Projects provides bespoke engineering solutions for your lifting and mechanical handling challenges. Our customers range from the nuclear and defence sectors to aerospace and manufacturing, stadia and kinetic architecture, and energy and utilities.

Due to a combination of business growth and succession planning, we are recruiting a Technical Sales Engineer to support our technical sales team in developing winning technical proposals.  As part of this role, you will also work in close collaboration with the engineering design team to ensure customer requirements are met. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships, with new and existing clients, to promote. new enquiries and maximise sales of the company’s services

  • To achieve pre-agreed annual sales targets in our targeted markets

  • Coordinate the tender proposals process and manage responses to clients

  • Preparation of timely and accurate technical & commercial proposals

  • Act as point of contact on technical issues and manage the client relationship

  • Evaluate quotations from suppliers in order to provide cost-effective solutions and comprehensive proposals

  • Attend technical clarification meetings with clients and sub-suppliers

  • Lead project handover meetings ensuring all relevant project information required for successful project delivery is communicated

  • Detailed handovers must be followed by design monitoring throughout the concept stage

  • From time to time, support of the concept drawing stage may be required

  • Maintain documentation in line with company procedures and policy to ensure compliance with Quality and H&S standard.


About You 

This is a key client-facing role, and you will be comfortable interacting directly with clients, their representatives, and suppliers, providing technical support throughout the entire sales process. The successful candidate should be someone who has:

  • An engineering-related degree 
  • Experience in a Technical Engineering role, experience of B2B technical sales would also be an advantage. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and creative solutions
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage with customers and suppliers
