Job Summary

To monitor and coordinate all training activity for the group, ensuring the company’s compliance with legal requirements.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Record, monitor and evaluate training undertaken throughout the group
  • Source and book training, sending out joining instructions to employees
  • Maintain training records, ensuring that they are accessible to management
  • Monitor expiry dates and ensure that all training is kept up to date
  • Raise purchase orders, check invoices and book orders in for payment on the Navision system (in house training will be provided)
  • Support the UK Service Manager in the recruitment, management and development of the Street CraneXpress Apprentices
  • Support managers throughout the group in the recruitment, management and development of students, apprentices and graduates
  • Coordinate the appraisal process; this will include sending out reminders, filing completed paperwork and ensuring requested training is booked
  • Provide support to the HR Manager as required, including but not restricted to:
    • Arrange new starter Inductions, prepare induction packs and induct new starters
    • Assist in the recruitment process including liaising with recruitment agents, searching for candidates online and arranging interviews
    • Take notes in meetings including disciplinary hearings and Engineers Bulletin meeting
    • Arrange Occupational Health reviews
    • Issue eye test vouchers
    • To deputise for the HR Manager when on leave
    • Any other ad hoc projects as instructed by the HR Manager
  • Provide general administrative support to the business by:
    • Providing cover on Reception, and from time to time organise refreshments for internal meetings
    • Providing cover for the Projects Administrator, organising travel and accommodation
    • Managing off site storage


Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required

  • A proven track record of working within a training function covering at least 150 employees
  • A good working knowledge of health and safety training within the engineering or construction industries
  • Experience of recruiting and supporting Apprentices would be advantageous
  • Must be organised and able to prioritise own workload
  • Be adaptable to change, flexible and able to work unsupervised, using their own initiative
  • Must have a confident telephone manner
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite
  • A good standard of secondary education
  • CIPD qualifications (or equivalent) would be desirable but not essential
  • Must be willing to undergo security clearance if required
