Marketing Executive

Job Summary

Responsible for delivering the SCX Special Projects marketing plan to promote the business and its engineering capabilities to our target audiences.

This includes producing a range of supporting materials including brochures, email campaigns, company website updates, case studies, photography, video and social media content. Ensure marketing opportunities are highlighted and assessed and provide general support to the wider Sales & Marketing department.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote awareness of SCX’s engineering capabilities through various channels, with a focus on generating new enquiries

  • Write, design and produce engaging content that demonstrates SCX’s breadth of experience, including case studies, brochures, videos and presentations

  • Ensure actions from the marketing plan are delivered in a professional and timely manner

  • Update the marketing plan regularly in response to business needs

  • Maintain the company’s social media channels, posting content on a regular basis

  • Maintain the company website, adding new content regularly

  • Create integrated promotional campaigns across email, search, print and in person

  • Manage regular email campaigns to our target sectors using the Mailchimp platform

  • Develop processes to increase the reach of our mailing list

  • Manage and develop the CRM system, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with GDPR legislation

  • Support the sales team by developing content and collateral to support specific sales activity

  • Track Google Analytics and SEO performance to identify new content opportunities

  • Develop Google Ads PPC campaigns to ensure target search topics are covered where organic results fall short

  • Manage marketing purchase orders on the finance system

  • Assist the sales and marketing teams on tasks as required, such as in the preparation of tender responses and case studies  

  • Provide occasional support to the leadership team, such as minuting the monthly board meeting 

  • Support the wider business on the use of branding, internal communications and document templates


Key Skills & Experience



  • Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Multimedia or related business discipline, or relevant marketing or engineering sector experience

  • Very capable of writing professional marketing copy, using your own initiative to research subject matter

  • Advanced user of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite (additional training can be given)

  • Highly competent in Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience of using CRM software (SCX uses Dynamics365)

  • Experience of online email marketing platforms (SCX uses Mailchimp)

  • Experience in digital marketing disciplines, including the use of HTML and CSS

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Ability to manage your own time and workload


  • Experience of working closely with a B2B sales team

  • Experience of utilising Google Analytics and tracking techniques

  • Experience of using Excel and other data applications
